UNDERSTANDING THE COURTS

Follow a Case

How are Payments Distributed?

When a person's debt owed to the court is paid, the courts must distribute the funds in the priority order established by the Idaho Legislature in Idaho Code section 31-3201I. If the debt is more than they can pay in a single payment, the person may make payments to the court.

The charts below show the priority for distribution of payments, identify the types of cases in which various fines and fees apply, and show where the money is distributed.
